Trish and Phil contacted us late in the summer of 2020 in the midst of lockdown. They wanted an additional space in their expansive garden as an office/workspace away from the main house.
The land was on a 30 degree slope so the engineering around the base was pivotal to the integrity and look of the garden studio.
After a couple of meetings and an original brief the job quickly became more involved as Trish realised some of the options that were available.
We discussed large bifold doors with a vision panel to bring in more light. Given the amount of light coming into the property, we engineered in a LG Air conditioning unit that doubles up as a heater, taking away the need for radiators and enabling comfortable working in mid summer. Linear flush ceiling lights finish off the streamlined look inside.
The grey laminate flooring was designed to match the clean contemporary look of the stone grey composite cladding on the outside.
On the outside we designed and built a deck in matching stone grey that was finished with a contemporary glass balustrade system – stunning!
What started as an outside office and storage area has turned into a stunning contemporary studio.
During the course of the work Trish and Phil decided that they would like us to help them with the landscaping of her garden, including decking, pathways and walls. These will be carried out by our sister firm, New Driveway Company.
