Garden Storage Room & Pergola at Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Oxfordshire
We were contacted by Rhodri Williams at Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, the famous restaurant/hotel in Great Milton, Oxfordshire.
They were looking for a storage room and a new outdoor structure to replace their old smoking shelter which would fit in with the beautiful surroundings of their guest experience space. Aesthetics and sustainability are crucial to Le Manoir, so after in-depth discussions regarding the design and materials and we finally agreed on the specifications.
The timber storage room was to feature hidden doors, a 1.2 metre canopy and a Living Roof from Green Roofs Direct. The roof was covered with EPDM rubber roofing and an Evermat living roof system was placed on top.
The smoking shelter would be replaced with a custom made octagonal pergola with four sides open, including heated seats and USB charging ports.
Both buildings are painted in ‘Le Manoir Green’ Paint – a unique colour especially made up for Le Manoir. The copper external lights are controlled by PIR.
We ensured that the site was safe and secure at all times, for the protection of their patrons and staff and to minimise disruption. Because Le Manoir is a working hotel, we had to take into consideration all the parties and weddings that were due to take place during the four week project, carefully planning the days when we could work and take delivery of materials. This all worked out very well due to good communication between New Garden Room Company and Le Manoir.
We completed the work on time, within budget and without undue disruption to the gusts and staff. In fact, Rhodri was so pleased with our work that he has already recommended us to others.
