New Patio Room, Kennington, Oxford

Simon and Wendy wanted to maximise the patio space at their home in Kennington, Oxfordshire, and we had just the answer they needed.

Simon runs his marketing business from home, using a brick-built conservatory as an office. The couple also do a lot of entertaining. But the patio space between the office and the kitchen was open to the elements. They didn’t want to lose the openness of the area, but wanted it covered, so an Aluminium Patio Room with sliding doors gives them the ideal compromise. The fixed polycarbonate roof is totally weatherproof and gives a bit of shade, and the full-height glass doors slide smoothly out of the way when the weather is fine.

The large garden is pleasant, but the entire exterior of the house was in need of some TLC, so we repaired and repainted, replaced the old cladding on the conservatory, removed the unsightly drainpipe and cabling from the patio area and rewired and replumbed. Then we fitted the new patio room to the house to join up the space between the patio and the kitchen.

The finished result looks fantastic, and Simon and Wendy have been amazed by the way the patio room has changed the way they use the space.
