New Garden Living Room, Didcot, Oxfordshire

Gaby and Mark wanted some extra room for family life, but didn’t want the expense and upheaval of a home extension.

They’d looked into professional Garden Rooms online and chose us for their project because of our specialism and professionalism. Normally, we design, build and complete our Garden Room projects from start to finish, but Gaby and Mark wanted to use their own electrician and flooring contractor. That was fine with us – we work well with other professionals.

We dug out the ground and built the concrete base, working closely with their electrician to ensure that everything lined up. They wanted maximum space without the need for planning permission, so we constructed the generous 19 square metre Garden Living Room on the edge of their patio, with a single glass door facing the house and the panoramic 2.4 metre aluminium bifold doors facing the bottom of the garden.

They chose maintenance-free stone grey composite cladding with door surrounds in anthracite grey, and the seamless Firestone rubber roof was fitted in one piece and will last for many years without any need for maintenance.

They now have the extra space they’d always wanted, without the cost, hassle and planning permission associated with a traditional home extension.

Gaby and Mark are delighted with their new Garden Living Room and describe it as ‘a dream come true’.
