New Garden Room Studio, Didcot, Oxfordshire

Anne was in the process of buying a newly built house in the booming town of Didcot, Oxfordshire.

While she loved the house, the garden was uninspiring and, as a keen artist, she wanted a place that inspired her where should could enjoy her painting.

Since the house is on a new build site Anne needed permission from the builders to install a Garden Room and we had to submit plans. No problem for us – our designer is an expert, and his plans were accepted first time.

Anne had a lot on her plate, as she was in the process of selling her old house and preparing for the  move, but the entire project went went very smoothly.

The Garden Room was to be located at the top of the sloping garden so we had to take that into account, correcting the ground to level the base.

The finished Garden Room Studio is 4×6 metres in grey composite wood cladding with panoramic 2.7 metre bi-fold doors and 500x155mm window for maximum light.

The internal recessed spot lighting allows Anne to paint day or night.

Anne also wanted the garden landscaped, including a pond, raised planting beds, a patio, decking and steps – all of which was undertaken by our sister company New Driveway Company.

Take a look at the pictures below to see how we turned a standard new-build garden into a creative oasis.
